I kicked off my wedding season for the year (woo hoo!) on Sunday, April 30 at Early Mountain Vineyards where Melissa and Michael chose to host their traditional Jewish wedding ceremony and reception. It was the first time I’ve worked for clients who both are of the same Jewish faith and descent; I appreciated learning more about Melissa and Michael’s culture as I put together the details of their beautiful wedding!
I served as Melissa and Michael’s day-of wedding planner. As such, I create and manage the timeline of their entire wedding day. I make sure everyone is where they need to be when they need to be there! And I also get to play designer-for-a-day as I arrange all the little details items that each client provides me. I really loved Melissa and Michael’s wine bottle guest book. They had four empty wine bottles with anniversary years written on each wine bottle. Guests were to write a note and place that message in a bottle for the happy couple to read years later. Cute!
Melissa and Michael were blessed with great weather so they were able to hold their ceremony outside under a chuppah created and assembled on-site by Karen and her fab team from Hedge Fine Blooms. The chuppah is meant to represent a Jewish home–covered only by a symbolic roof of cloth with all four sides open to welcome guests and children.
Following the ceremony, guests traveled into the tasting room for appetizers and drinks from The Local. Helen and her staff are wonderful at maintaining the flow of the event: Guests seamlessly moved from the tasting room down to the ballroom for dinner and dancing. And whoa, did they dance! Thanks to DJ Big Bad Ben the guests had an awesome, unforgettable and fun night!
